Congratulations to our friends at Chasetown FC on a memorable 3-2 victory over local rivals Lichfield City FC on 31 August 2026.
A Derby Over 40 Years in the Making
This was no ordinary fixture. It was the first time the two neighbouring clubs had met in a league match in over 40 years, giving supporters on both sides a derby day to remember. The Scholars rose to the occasion and came away with all three points.
Aldridge Fabrications on the Back Page
The match caught the attention of the national press too. An action shot from the game featured on the back page of The Independent on 3 September, with the Aldridge Fabrications pitchside hoarding clearly visible in the background.

Seeing our name alongside the Scholars in a national newspaper was a proud moment for everyone at AF, and a great reminder of why we were so pleased to become sponsors of Chasetown FC earlier this year.
Proud to Support Local Football
Aldridge Fabrications has been rooted in Staffordshire since 1957, and supporting the clubs and communities around our Burntwood and Dilhorne sites matters to us just as much as the quality of our steel. A derby win like this shows exactly what non-league football means to the local area, and we are delighted to be part of it.
Well done to the players, staff and supporters. Here’s to many more big days at The Scholars.
